![]() So I replaced that yesterday.ĭriving today it died on the highway with a 3 passenger pool trip running. I found a couple of references to a Throttle Position sensor causing cars to die. There was a lot about my Crank sensor, but it's new with a lifetime warrenty. So I sat on the side of the road searching for ANYTHING online, that might explain this. Then dropped him off, and logged out of Uber. This time we were on the highway, so I put it in Neutral and fired it up on the move! We got off the highway and it did it again, 2 miles tops to his drop off, so I limped it (restarted it in motion) three times more. I made 30 trips before it died with a passenger in the car again, AT 3 am!!!. So I changed the fuel pump the next morning, and went back to driving the next afternoon. (Thinking it was the Fuel pump going out). It died again! This time at a 1/3rd of a tank) So I drove it home 32 miles, after adding $15 worth of gas. The next night I'm out driving college kids around. ![]() Home was 132 miles and everything went fine. ![]() So I drove it "home", after filling it with gas. You can try and spray water from a spray bottle on these items when it is running to see if it starts misfiring or you may even see the spark jump out of the coil or coil wire. The cap and rotor are most common, although the coil and coil wire will do the Same. The spark will jump around and cause it to not start. Wet weather can cause a no start problem if the distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil or coil wire, or spark plug wires are faulty. Even though the pumps runs, does not mean the pressure is high enough. Was hot humid and raining out but never a problem before with starting when left truck without running before thank you.Īnswer: The fuel pump should run for 2-3 seconds with the key in the ON position, not cranking. You can also try tapping on the ignition switch to see if you can cause it to stall. Would need to have a fuel pressure gauge on the engine and watch to see if it drops as it stalls, and if it it is low when trying to restart- and it won't. It may be hard to find, especially if it starts right back up. If it just instantly shuts off like you are turning the key off, then it may be a problem in the ignition switch in the steering column, or an ignition control module. So the blazer starts fine and runs fine just shuts off whenever it feels like without warning. I got the garage to scan computer and they said no codes were coming up. No warning lights come on and all the gauges are normal. Everything is fine for a week then it did it again. A minute later the engine shuts off again. I pull over, wait a minute, then start the engine and continue down the highway again. While driving on the highway my Chevrolet Blazers engine just shut off. ![]()
